Moving to a new house can be an exciting but stressful time. It is a life-changing decision, and whether you’re moving because you need more space or you are downsizing, it’s important to get the right mortgage.
And even though you’ve already gone through the process of finding a mortgage when you bought your first home, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will be any easier this time around.
With the added burden of trying to sell your existing home, it can be even more complicated than before. I would be happy to run you through your options, so we can figure out the right option for you.
You will usually have 2 options when moving to a new home, the first is to do what is known as porting, this is where you take your current mortgage interest rate to the new property. This usually means that if you are on a fixed-rate mortgage deal you invariably won’t have to pay the early repayment charge provided you move within a certain time period.
The other option is to take out a brand new mortgage with another lender and again I would have access to the whole of the market to find the right deal for you.
You will need a solicitor and/or estate agent to help with the sale and purchase of your home, and again I am happy to put in you in touch with some established firms helping to make the move as smooth as possible.
